History Happening Today

-September 27, 2011 there was a tropical storm in the Philippines that left 35 people missing and 21 people killed. The typhoon is called Nesat and had winds gusting up to 75 mph.

-A court case is happening with the late pop singer Michael Jackson's doctor being charged.

-Joseph Moraachli the terminally ill baby at the center of a legal ethical battle has died at his home in Windsor, Ontario at the age of 20 months.

-In Montreal a holocaust survivor has given a museum a jacket she was forced to where while imprisoned over 6 decades ago. Imy Nemenofy Gellent donated the rare item on her 97th birthday as a reminder of that dark period in history.

-Vancouver police still a month sway from laying charges to people about the Stanley Cup riots. they may lay 40 charges at least.

-The Brandon Wheat Kings played the Swift Current Broncos on September 28th. Th Wheat Kings won in overtime 6-5. Brandon's next game is Friday vs Broncos again!

-Rick Hanson wheel chaired across Canada once and he's doing is again! He is raising money and awareness for people with spinal injuries. He has raised approximately 21 million dollars and will stop at OLCS in January.
