History Happening Today

September 21, 2011

Last night the Winnipeg Jets won their first game in 15 years. The score was 6 to 1. They were playing against the the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team split into 2 cities. There were 15,004 people in attendance at the MTS Centre. The biggest crowd they have had for a pre season game.

Prime Minister Stephan Harper may have a tough time getting reelected next Federal Election. The 3 opposing parties are struggling to find leadership. Harper and his family have recently visited Manitoba and Alberta and realizes what Unique provinces they are.

Blaine's hosted dirt bike races in August. There were over 70 riders competing. Aaron and BJ both won trophies during the event. It was hot weather and lots of H2O and Gatorade were consumed . The Blaine's will host the race again next year.

Rogue Space junk- a defunk satellite is headed toward Earth. Size of a school bus. It was used to measure the ozone and wind speed. Has been in space since 1991. Will crash this week? Probably will crash in the ocean- Since planet earth is 70% H2O.

Home work- Time Line due Monday September 26, HHT for 8 students.
