- This week in S.S. we will: correct test + send home to be signed.
- S.S. Fair projects will present (mark S.S. T2, + judges comments)
- Skype Gr. 8's in Hamiota our projects.
- Justin Bieber cut his hair for charity and lost 80,000 fans.
- Researchers have found that drinking a minimal amount of alcohol daily helps reduce heart disease.
-A Canada Goose was heard honking in Winnipeg yesterday
- Last Wed. was OLCS's SS/Science Fair! Everything went great
- Friday was OLCS's curling bonspiel. Marc/ Emily won the bonspiel for Grade 5/8 rinks Good food Fun!
- Team Sask. clinches women curling on Sunday defeating Team Canada 8-7.

-Tues. Feb.22 major earthquake in Christchurch New Zealand. 75 deaths and over 300 people are still missing.

-The country of Egypt is trying to seize former president Mubarak bank accounts.Egyptians are are worried he is going to embezzle money from the country.

-Lady Antebellum "cleans up" at 53rd annual Grammy awards.


- Minnedosa is preparing for flooding from the Little Saskatchewan River.

- The Brandon skating Oval closed early this year (February,21) to prepare for flooding.

- Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning a Canadian cross-country tour this summer.

  • Manitoba is prepared for expected Spring flooding. Officials will be chopping 20 cm of ice of the Red river using a large piece of equipment known as the Wolverine.
  • Protesters clashed in Cairo, many people were injured and there was 6 known deaths reported.
  • Haitian stores close early as they await the final results in the Presidential Election.
  • U.F.O crop circle found in Indonesia.
  • U.S.A is expected to set "more texting laws" due to rising deaths while texting.
  • Ground hogs predict only 4 more weeks of winter.
  • Canadian nurse was attacked by a shark in Mexico. She is expected to make a full recovery.
  • Finally after 3 days of being lost in the woods, a Manitoba man has been found. He became disoriented after receiving an injury from cutting wood.
  • Black -eyed Peas/ Usher/ Slash played at Superbowl XLV. Green Bay won 31-25 against the Steelers.
  • On Feb.4 OLCS girls traveled to Brandon for Basketball Tournament. They did very well and won all their games!

  • The Chicago Black Hawks have lost their Stanley cup winning puck and the FBI has offered to search for it.
  • The results for the NHL All-Star Skills is team Staal 33 to team Lindstrom 22! Team Lindstrom won the All-Star game 11 to 10! For the first time in the history of this game there was a penalty shot taken.
  • It is the seventh day of protesting in Egypt and officials are working to preserve Egypt's treasures. Protesters have broken into the museum in Cairo and have damaged mummies. The Canadian government has planned flights to rescue Canadians trapped by protesters and upheaval in Egypt.
  • A female polar bear swam the equivalent of 16 marathons back to back off the coast of Alaska and it took her nine days.
  • Miami won over Oklahoma (BB) Jan 30 /11.. 108-103
  • Boston Celtics won over LA Lakers (BB) Jan 30 /11..109-96
  • O.L Raptors (girls) host Virden in BB today! Go Raptors Go!
