Locusts in Somalia
Large swarms of locusts spread across east Africa into Somalia. One of the biggest invasions since 1950. The outbreak has destroyed about 100 00 hectares of farmland. It is the wet year and warm temperate that has caused the outbreak. Officials are worried about Somalia’s food insecurity. The Government has a plan to use chemicals.
