- On Tuesday, Feb 28 the city of Winnipeg decided to raise their property taxes. The increase will cost the average home owner $ 48-$ 60 per year- a raise of 3.5 percent. The raise in taxes is to cover costs for police officers, fire fighters, and their wages.

-Winnipeg School Division is planning to higher tax costs on schooling, to put money into more students, more staffing, and rebuilding buildings.
-Three engineers were riding in the locomotive of Via Rail train No. 92 when it derailed near Burlington, Ontario, on Sunday Afternoon.
-The Virden Golden Bears Girls Basketball team Participated in the Java Jam basketball tournament. They won the JV title.
