Easter Island Statues

- On February 6, 2020 archeologists from Binghamton University found evidence that the Easter Island heads (or Moai Heads) were made about 300 years later than was originally believed.

- The team was lead by Robert J. DiNapoloe.

- They found evidence that supports the theory that the Spanish fabricated the story that the natives were almost all gone. They made this up because they suffered a great defeat, and they didn't want to go home as fools.

- The heads are believed to be signs to their gods.

-The heads are on a South American Pacific Island called  Rapa Nui.


Saskatchewan CP Train Derailment

-On Feb.6th, a train was reported derailed in SK. This is the second derailment in the last 2months. 

-That morning the train spilled over 1.2 million litres of oil.

-People are now changing the speed of the trains to 35 miles per hour while carrying dangerous goods or with more than 20 cars.

History Made At The Oscars

- Bong Joon Ho won 6 awards for his movie "Parasite"
-Ho was the winner in the following categories: Best Picture, Best Foreign-Language Movie, Best Screenplay and more. 
- Hair Love won for the Best Animated short film
- Billie Eilish performed The Beatles' "Yesterday" with her brother Finneas O'Connell

Update on The Coronavirus-Covid 19


  • Covid-19 is a very rapid spreading disease
  • Covid-19 originated in China and is spreading worldwide
  • 45 000 cases have been reported, 1 115 deaths, and 8 cases reported in Canada
  • Covid-19 may or may not have come from contaminated fish, or bats
  • Scientists have recently found a virus in bats that is very similar to the coronavirus
