HHT April 20th

  • Egypt's supreme admin. count formally dissolves the country's fallen national democratic party on Sat. and seized its assets and sentences former leader life in jail. Gumal Mubarak ( a prince of the political scene) is now a prisoner at Tora Farm Jail
  • The largest tornado in U.S. history lasting 56 hours from April 14-16 killing 39 people and 5 people were killed from straight line winds. Grapefruit size hail also caused extensive damage.
  • Libyan leader Momar Ghadaffi tyrant leader will not let go of power. NATO is involved in trying to protect the people of Libya by conducting air strikes.
  • 160 people have been hospitalized with pneumonia from the Japan earthquake. Prime Minister of Japan Naota Kan is freezing Japan's plans to build new nuclear facilities in the wake of the world's worst nuclear accident. 71/108 students in a school in Japan have died as a result of the earthquake and schools are still working to open up again! Toyota in Canada is being affected by not being able to receive parts for their vehicles which are manufactured in Japan.
  • 800 people in MB have been evacuated from their homes as a result of flooding. The Assiniboine and the Souris River are flooding their banks. They were considering possible evacuation in Brandon if sewage backs up due to flooding.
