HHT Monday, March 14

  • (L) OLCS had no school on Friday, March 11th due to freezing rain ad icy conditions. #1 highway was closed so FLBSD was also closed.
  • (L) Out of the town members of the Brandon Bluefins are going to great lengths to make the most of their swimming participation. Even practices are a road trip for Virden residents and a native of Pilot Mound.
  • (P) Brandon Mar-Dee Ice Cats won 2 round robin games Sat. They will play in a semi final at the Provincial Atom girls hockey championship in Hamiota.
  • (P) Hamiota Huskies Bantom Girls team won Provincials in Treherne on Sunday defeating Melita 2-1
  • (P) Virden Golden Bears (JV) girls BB placed 2nd in provincials losing to Boissevain.
  • (N) MB beats Ontario in Mens Curling to clench the Brier on Sunday, March 13th
  • (W/I) An earthquake hits Japan Thursday night registering over 9 on the Richter Scale. This is the fifth strongest earthquake in the worlds history. Death toll is estimated over 10K. Japan tries to avoid meltdown.
